YENİ EKONOMİ VE BİLGİ TOPLUMUNDA ENTELEKTÜEL SERMAYENİN FİRMA PERFORMANSINA ETKİLERİ VE BİR UYGULAMA

Öz:

Son yıllarda tüm dünyada yaşanan entelektüel sermaye uygulamalarının getirdiği bilgi toplumunun etkilerini hem bireyler hem de işletmeler fazlasıyla hissetmiştir. Entelektüel sermaye uygulamaları işletmelere sürdürülebilir rekabet avantajı ve performans artışı sağlamaktadır. Amaç: Bu çalışma, yeni ekonomi ve bilgi toplumundaki entelektüel sermaye araştırmalarının içeriğine dair bir çerçeve sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Yöntem: Bu çalışma İstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren üç teknoloji işletmesiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın verileri; işletmelerin çalışma konusuyla bağlantılı olan departmanlarında bulunan en yetkin orta ve üst düzey yöneticileri ile derinlemesine mülakat, doküman inceleme ve gözlem yapılarak toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın verilerinin güvenirliliğini sağlamak için Kappa Analizi ve işletmelerden alınan geri bildirimler kullanılmıştır. Veri çözümlemesi yapılırken; açık, seçici ve eksenel kodlamalar yapılarak gömülü teori oluşturulmuş ve oluşturulan kuram ile çalışmanın bilimselliği sağlanmıştır. Oluşturulan bu teori sonrasında iki değerleyicinin sonuçları arasındaki uyuşmanın ölçümü için mülakat verileri alanında uzman iki kişiyle paylaşılarak bu kişilere kodlama yaptırılmıştır. Bulgular: İşletme verilerini ve gizliliğini korumak için çalışma yapılan işletmeler X, Y, Z işletmeleri şeklinde isimlendirilmiştir. Mülakat yapılan her işletmenin gözlem, döküman ve mülakat sorularına verdikleri cevaplarından yararlanılarak elde edilen bulgular, karşılaştırmalı bir biçimde aktarılmış ve kappa analizi yapılmıştır.Kappa analizi sonucunda 0,78 değeri elde edilerek sonuçlar arasında yüksek oranda uyum sağlanılmıştır. Özgünlük: Yeni ekonomi ve bilgi toplumunun getirdiklerinin entelektüel sermayeyle harmanlanması ile yapılan çalışmalar literatürde sınırlı sayıda bulunmaktadır. Bundan dolayı çalışma, işletmelere entelektüel sermaye yönetiminin doğru kullanılması yoluyla işletme performansına ek olarak literatüre de katkı sağlaması beklenmektedir.

THE EFFECT OF INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL ON FIRM PERFORMANCE IN THE NEW ECONOMY AND INFORMATION SOCIETY AND AN APPLICATION

Öz:

Both individuals and enterprises have strongly felt the effects of the information society introduced by the intellectual capital practices, which has been experienced worldwide in recent years. The intellectual capital methods provide the enterprises with sustainable competitive advantage and performance increase. Purpose: This study aims to present a perspective about the content of the intellectual capital research in the new economy and information society.Method: This study has been conducted with three technology enterprises. The data of the study has been collected by thoroughly interviews with the most competent mid-level and senior managers of the related departments of the enterprises, document analyses, and observations. Kappa Analysis and feedback taken from the enterprises are used in order to secure the authenticity of the study. While doing data analysis, explicit, selective and axial codes are used to create a grounded theory and the scientificness of the study has been ensured by the created theory. Once this theory was formed, the data of the interview were shared with two experts in the field to measure the compatibility between the results of the two raters and coding was done by these people. Findings: In order to protect business data and confidentiality, the companies studied were named as X, Y, Z enterprises. The findings obtained through the answers of each interviewed enterprise to the observation, document and interview questions were transferred in a comparative way and a kappa analysis was performed.As a result of the kappa analysis, a value of 0.78 was obtained, and a high level of agreement was achieved between the results.Originality: There are limited studies conducted with the blending of the new economy and information society with intellectual capital. Therefore, it can be said that the study will contribute to literature as well as contributing the performance of the enterprises by using intellectual capital correctly.
