THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT PARAMETERS ON THE COLOR STABILITY OF CAD/CAM RESTORATIONS

Öz:
Aim: To evaluate the color change properties of dual-cure and self-adhesive resin cements and to investigate the effect of repolishing procedure on the color stability of the restorations. Materials and Methods: 40 sections (n = 10) with dimensions of 12x14x0.8 mm were obtained from Shofu Blok. The section surfaces were roughened with 600 grit SİC abrasive under water cooling. Then sandblasted with 50 μm Al2O3 particles. The other surface of the samples was polished with Enhance Finishing System. CAD/CAM blocks were randomly divided into four groups according to the adhesive resin and liquid to be aged. Adhesive resins were applied to the CAD/CAM surface and polymerized. Then initial color measurements were made. Groups were stored in citric acid and distilled water for a week and color measurement was repeated. The surfaces of the samples were repolished then color measurements were made again and ΔE values were calculated. Shapiro Wilk Test, Kruskal Wallis One-way analysis of variance and Dunn's test were used in statistical analysis. Results: The lowest ΔE1 value was observed in Group 4, the highest ΔE1 value was observed in Group 2 (p<0.05). The lowest ΔE2 value was observed in Group 2, the highest ΔE2 value was observed in Group-4 (p<0.05). There was a significant difference between ΔE values for Group 1 and 2 (p<0.05). Conclusion: Self-adhesive resin showed less coloration than dual-cured resin when stored in citric acid. Repolishing of colored restorations reduced the color change of the restoration depending on the type of adhesive resin.
