Distance Education in the COVID-19 Pandemic: Reflections on Nursing Education

Öz:
The COVID-19 pandemia continues as a challenging process that is spreading rapidly all over the world and has affected almost every area. This period caused certain fields of study and education to enter digitalization, bringing the concept of emergency remote education to the agenda. Emergency remote education, especially for the education of applied sciences such as nursing, has caused new challenges and concerns for both students and educators. In this context, the theoretical background, concepts, learning systems and tools used in distance education should be examined and recognized by nursing educators. In this review, it is aimed to reveal the concepts related to distance education, examples of the use of distance education in nursing, methods and tools used in distance education which is widely used to meet the changing educational needs with the COVID-19 pandemia.
