TY - JOUR TI - Management of acute pulmonary embolism during COVID-19 pandemic AB - In late December 2019, COVID-19 was first reported from China, leading to a serious pandemic, and changed the agenda of the world for months. Although data are accumulating from many countries everyday, it is known that the most common reason for hospitalization of COVID-19 patients is severe respiratory distress. Acute pulmonary embolism is an important cause of death in hospitalized patients. Rapid diagnosis and treatment have a vital importance, as the majority of deaths occur with shock within the first few hours after presentation. In this article, we present a summary of COVID-19 pandemic and give an expert opinion report for common problems related to pulmonary thromboembolic disease and treatment modalities during the outbreak.
