Kurumsal İtibar Riski Yönetimi: Halkla İlişkilerin Rolü

Öz:
Günümüzün küresel ortamında rekabetçi avantaj açısından kurumların sahip oldukları soyut değerler, somut değerlerden daha önemli hale gelmiştir. Kurumların sahip olduğu en önemli soyut değerlerin başında gelen itibar, kurumun paydaşları ile olan ilişkilerinde stratejik bir anlam ifade etmekte ve bu paydaşlar nezdinde farklılaşmada önemli bir rol üstlenmektedir. İtibar kurumun karşı karşıya kaldığı tüm risklerden etkilenmektedir. Bu doğrultuda kurumlar, sürekli değişik risklerin altında olan itibarlarını korumak için ileriye dönük stratejik bir bakış açısıyla kurumun tüm fonksiyonlarını kapsayan sistemli çalışmalar gerçekleştirmeli; kendilerine özgü bir kurumsal risk yönetim planı geliştirmelidir. Bu noktada kurumların halkla ilişkiler çabaları, kurumun paydaşları ile olan çift yönlü, tutarlı ve sürekli iletişim sağlama becerilerinden ötürü itibar riski yönetim sürecinin her aşamasında amaçların gerçekleştirilmesi açısından önemli bir rol üstlenmektedir. Bu çalışmada itibarın kurumlar açısından önemi, kurumsal itibar riski yönetimi ve bu sürecin etkin bir şekilde gerçekleştirilmesinde halkla ilişkilerin rolü irdelenmiştir.

Corporate Reputation Risk Management: The Role of Public Relations

Öz:
In today’s global environment, in terms of competitive advantage intangible values that corporations carry become more important than the tangible ones. Reputation is one of the most important intangible values that corporations have. Reputation that each corporation holds is a strategic value in the relationships with their stakeholders and moreover, it plays an important role in differentiating the corporations in the eyes of their stakeholders. Reputation is affected by every risk that corporations face. In this sense, corporations to protect their reputation which is at risk all the time, corporations should develop systematic practices that consist all functions of it with forward looking strategic viewpoint; they should also develop distinctive corporate risk management plan. In every step of reputation risk management process, Public Relations activities are very important in achieving the organizational goals and it plays a vital role by providing the two-sided, consistent and persistent corporate communication with its stakeholders. In this study the importance of reputation for corporations, corporate reputation risk management and Public Relation’s role in the effective implementation of this process are examined.
