Low job satisfaction among physicians in Egypt

Öz:
AMAÇ: Hekimlerin mesleki tatmini sağlık hizmetlerinin kalitesini ve toplumun sağlık düzeyini yükseltmede köşe taşıdır. Çalışmanın amacı hekimler arasında mesleki tatmin düzeyini ve bunun temel bileşenlerini ortaya koymaktır.YÖNTEM: Hekimler, Mısır Nüfus ve Sağlık Bakanlığı Hastanelerinden rasgele seçilmiştir. Tüm hekimlerden kendi kendilerine doldurabilecekleri ve sosyo-demografik özellikler, maaş/prim, izlem, yönetim sistemi, yönetim, kariyer doyumu, meslektaşlarla ilişkiler, sosyal destek, gelişim olanakları ve mesleki sorumluluklar konusunda soruların yer aldığı bir soru formunu tamamlamaları istenmiştir. %60 ve üzeri doyum saptananlar mesleki olarak tatmin kabul edilmiştir. BULGULAR: Çalışmaya yaş ortalamaları 37.1+ 9.4 yıl ve %70.2’si erkek olan 238 hekim katılmıştır. Hekimlerin sadece %42.9’unun mesleki olarak tatmin olduğu saptanmıştır. Meslektaşları ile olan ilişkiler 81.3+19.6 ortalama ile mesleki tatminin en önemli bileşeni olarak saptanırken, maaş/prim 16.2+ 14 ortalama ile mesleki tatmini en az etkileyen bileşen olarak bildirilmiştir. Doyum sağlayan tüm bileşenler dikkate alındığında, doyumun evlilik durumu veya eğitim düzeyi ile ilişkili olmadığı, bununla birlikte branş ile önemli derecede ilişkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Yaş veya cinsiyet mesleki tatmin düzeyi ile ilişkili değildir.SONUÇ: Bulgularımız, daha yüksek sağlık standartlarına ulaşmak içim Mısır’da hekimlerin mesleki tatminlerini geliştirmeye daha çok önem verilmesi gerektiğini göstermektedir.
