Translator training in Turkey in a historical perspective
Öz: Bu yazı, Türkiye'nin zaman akışı içerisinde çeviri eğitiminden beklentilerini incelemektedir. Buna göre, ilk bölümde Türkiye'de yüksek öğrenim kapsamında çeviri eğitiminin akademik çevre tarafından kabulünü gerekçelendirmek üzere geçmişteki çeviri eğitimi yaklaşımları tartışmaya açılırken, ikinci bölümde çeviri eğitimiyle ilgili bilişsel kuramlar ve bunların erek ekin beklentilerini ne ölçüde karşıladığı üzerinde durulmaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde ise, tarihsel ve kuramsal tartışmadan çıkarılan sonuçlara göre çevirmen adayları ve bu eğitimi verenlerin özellikleri çeviri edinci bağlamında irdelenmektedir. Sonuç olarak, bu yazı Türkiye'nin Bilgi Çağında çeviri eğitiminden beklentileri doğrultusunda Çeviribilim alanındaki hem çevirmen adaylarını, hem de çeviri eğitimi verenleri ilgilendiren çeviri edinciyle ilgili paradigmaları tartışmaya açmayı hedeflemektedir.

Türkiye’de çeviri eğitimine tarihsel bir bakış
Öz: This paper deals with the expectations of Turkey from translator training in the course of time. Accordingly, while the first part discusses the didactic approaches in the past in such a way as to rationalize the acknowledgement of the departments of Translation studies in Turkey by the academic environment, the second part questions the cognitive theories in the field of translator training in terms of the expectations of target culture. As for the third part of the paper, it focuses both on the features of the trainees and the trainers within the framework of translation competence in consideration for the conclusions inferred from the historical and theoretical account of translator training in the previous section. In conclusion, this paper aims to discuss the paradigms of translation competence concerning both the trainees and trainers in the field of Translation Studies in the direction of the expectations of Turkey from translator training in the Information Age.
