Meslek lisesi tercihi sürecinin keşifsel olarak incelenmesi
Öz: Meslek seçimi, kişinin hayatında yaptığı en önemli seçimlerden biridir. Seçimin önem derecesi, Türkiye Eğitim Sisteminde verilen meslek lisesi ya da genel liseye devam etme tercihinde olduğu gibi karar verme olgunluğuna erişme öncesinde yapıldığında daha da artmaktadır. Mezunlar kendi kararlarını verecek denli büyümüş olmadıkları için eğitim sistemi tarafından rehberlik hizmetinin sağlanması gerekir. Bu çalışmada öğrencilerin kendilerine ait değerlendirme süreci, mesleklere ait bilgilerinin düzeyleri ve kayıt öncesinde sağlanan rehberlik hizmetinin varlığına ilişkin sorular meslek liselerinin kayıt döneminde derinlemesine görüşme tekniği kullanılarak sorgulanmıştır. Görüşmelerde öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun kendilerini tanımadığı, ilgi alanlarını bilmediği, tercihlerini ailelerin yönlendirmesine, aldıkları puanlara ve not ortalamasına göre yapmakta oldukları ifade edilmiştir. Bu durum öğrencilerin kendileri için uygun olmayan bölümlerde eğitim alması sonucunu doğurur. Öğrenciler tercih ettikleri meslekler ile ilgili bilgi sahibi olmadıklarını ve kayıt öncesinde yeterli rehberlik hizmeti almadıklarını belirtmişlerdir.

Öz: The career choice is one of the most important decisions in one’s life. The level of importance increases, when it has to be made just before the graduates are not mature enough to make their own decisions, like it happens for the vocational school decision in Turkey Education System.Hence, the vocational guidance procedure should be provided throughout the education system. This study aims to explore the extent of the self assessment, the level of vocational information and the availability of previous guidance process during vocational school registration using the in-depth interview technique. During the interviews it has been stated that the students do not have self-knowledge,not know their vocational interests, and do their career choice based on their families’ manipulation, their exam grades and their general average points. That results for the students in having education which is not a good fit for them. Students also, have expressed that they do not have any information about the vocations that they choose and they haven’t been provided enough vocational guidance before the registration.
