Merak ve Keşfetme Ölçeği II: Açımlayıcı ve Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizleri ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

Öz:
Bu araştırmanın amacı Kashdan ve arkadaşları (2009) tarafından geliştirilen Merak ve Keşfetme Ölçeği (MKÖ)- IInin Türkçe uyarlamasının geçerliğini ve güvenirliğini saptamaktır. Bu çalışmanın verileri iki farklı üniversiteden toplanmıştır. Bu iki üniversitenin öğrencilerine iki farklı ölçme araçları uygulanmış olup iki farklı çalışma yapıl- mıştır. Birinci çalışmanın verileri, Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Buca Eğitim Fakültesine devam etmekte olan 99 erkek ve 238 kız olmak üzere toplam 337 öğrenciden elde edilmiştir. İkinci çalışmanın verileri, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesine devam eden 105 erkek ve 218 kız olmak üzere toplam 323 öğrenciden toplanmıştır. Veriler için hem açımlayıcı hem de doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Sonuçlar, ölçeğin, bilgi ve yeni deneyim arama moti- vasyonu olan esneklik alt ölçeği (6 madde) ile günlük yaşamın yeni, belirsiz ve kestirilemez olanı keşfetme isteğini yansıtan, belirsizliği kabul etme (4 madde) alt ölçeği olmak üzere iki faktörlü bir yapıya sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca, ölçeğin bileşen ve ayırt edici geçerliğini belirlemek üzere, iki farklı çalışmada farklı değişkenlerle ilişkisine bakılmıştır. Sonuçta, bulgular 10 maddeli MKÖ-IInin Türk üniversite öğrencileri için iyi psikometrik özelliklere sahip olduğuna ilişkin kanıtlar sağlamıştır.

Trait Curiosity and Exploration Inventory-II: Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Its Reliability

Öz:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity and reliability for Curiosity and Exploration Inventory-II (CEI) developed by Kashdan et. al (2009). According to this purpose, data were collected by participants in two different universities. The data of first study were obtained from 337 students (male = 99 and female = 238) from Education Faculty of Buca in Dokuz Eylül University. Those of second study were collected by 323 students (male = 105 and female = 218) from Education Faculty in Pamukkale University. Data were to analyze for Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analyses. Results showed that the inventory has a model with two factors including in stretch- ing (6 items), motivation to seek out knowledge and new experiences and embracing (4 items), and a willingness to embrace the novel, uncertain, and unpredictable nature of everyday. Moreover, for determining in its convergent and discriminate validities, it was to calculate the correlation between its score and different variables in two studies. In conclusion the findings provided that 10-item CEI-II has the good evidence of the psychometric properties for Turkish university students.
