Sağlık İletişimi Kapsamında “Hastane Radyoculuğu” Whipps Cross Hospital Radio
Öz: İnsan, ruhen ve bedenen daha iyi koşullarda yaşamak için tarih boyunca harcadığı çaba ve girişimlerle, sağlıkla ilgili her konuda önemli aşamalar kaydetmiştir. İletişim ise çeşitli duygu, düşünce, haber ve bilginin paylaşılması yoluyla insanlığın bugün ulaşmış olduğu medeniyette kilit konumdadır. Sağlık iletişimi kavramı, kişilerarası iletişim kapsamında değerlendirilebileceği gibi kitle iletişiminin de konusuna girmektedir. Radyonun esnek, erişilebilir ve kolay uyarlanabilir yapısı, ilk yılları itibarıyla bir kitle iletişim aracı olarak toplumsal yaşamımızın her alanında uygulama alanı bulmasını kolaylaştırmıştır. Dünyada 1920'lerde ilk örneklerine rastlanan "hastane radyoculuğu" uygulamalarına, özellikle internet teknolojilerinin yaygınlaşması sonucunda başta İngiltere olmak üzere Avustralya, Amerika, Hollanda, Almanya, Fransa, Norveç ve Yeni Zelanda gibi ülkelerde sıklıkla rastlanmaktadır. Sağlık iletişimi uygulamalarının yayıncılık faaliyeti kapsamında hayat bulduğu hastane radyo yayıncılık uygulamasının Türkiye'de herhangi bir tarihi bulunmamaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında, İngiltere Londra'da bulunan ve bir "hastane radyosu" olarak hizmet gören 'Whipps Cross' Hastane Radyosu, örnek olay incelemesi olarak ele alınmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemi kapsamında, derinlemesine mülakat tekniğiyle elde edilen veriler, "hastane radyoculuğu"nun uygulanış biçimini ve kapsamını ortaya koymuştur

Öz: Human has made important strides in every aspect of health with their efforts and initiatives throughout history to live in better conditions spiritually and physically. Communication is the key to civilization in which societies have reached today through the sharing of various feelings, thoughts, news, and information. Health communication concept can be evaluated within the scope of interpersonal communication as well as in the context of mass communication. The flexible, accessible and easily adaptable nature of the radio has made it easier to find application area in all areas of our social life as a means of mass communication since its early years. The first examples of hospital radio broadcasting practices in the world date back to the 1920s. Today, especially as a result of the widespread use of internet technologies, hospital radio broadcasting practices are frequently observed in countries such as Australia, USA Holland, Germany, France, Norway, New Zealand, and in particular England. There is no history of hospital radio broadcasting, which is a health communication application within the broadcasting, in Turkey. In the scope of the study, Whipps Cross Hospital Radio in London was considered as a case study. Within the scope of the qualitative research method, the data obtained by the in-depth interview technique revealed the practice form and scope of the hospital radio.
