Tıp Fakültesi Öğrencilerinde Tükenmişlik Derecesi Psikolojik Esneklik ve Değerler Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Öz:
Tükenmişlik gün geçtikçe artan yaygınlığı ile birlikte, zorlu bir eğitim sürecinden geçen tıp öğrencileriiçin de ciddi bir riske dönüşmüştür. Tükenmişliği etkileyen birçok değişken saptanmış olmaklabirlikte, müdahale edilebilir olanların saptanması, tükenmişliğin azaltılması ya da önlenmesine yönelikçalışmalar için ampirik bir zemin hazırlayabilir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmamız, tükenmişliği, değerler vepsikolojik esneklik seviyeleri ile ilişkisi açısından incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, 2018–2019öğretim yılı güz döneminde Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi’nde stajlarını sürdürmekte olan 81 beşinci sınıföğrencisiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma örnekleminin cinsiyet, yaş gibi sosyo-demografik özelliklerininbelirlenebilmesi amacıyla, sosyo-demografik veri formu, öğrencilerdeki tükenmişlik düzeylerini saptamaamacıyla Maslach Tükenmişlik Envanteri Öğrenci Formu, psikolojik esneklik ve katılık seviyelerinindeğerlendirilmesi için Kabul ve Eylem Formu-II (KEF-II) ve değer tercihlerini belirlemek amacıylaDeğerler Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, psikolojik katılık düzeylerinin duygusal tükenmişliğianlamlı derecede yordadığını göstermiştir. Tükenmişliğin diğer bir alt boyutu olan düşük yetkinliğiise entelektüel değerlere verilen önemin ve psikolojik katılık seviyelerinin anlamlı derecede yordadığısaptanmıştır. Tükenmişliğin duyarsızlaşma alt boyutu ile entelektüel ve toplumsal değerler alt boyutlarıarasında düşük düzeyde bir anlamlı ilişki bulunmuş olmakla birlikte, regresyon analizinde bu değişkenlerinanlamlı derecede yordama gücüne sahip olmadıkları saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, araştırmamız, entelektüeldeğerlerle temastaki artışın yetkinlikteki tükenmişliği azaltabileceğine dair ön veriler sunmakta,psikolojik esneklik seviyeleri azaldıkça duygusal tükenmişliğin arttığını, yetkinlik algısının ise azaldığınıgöstermektedir. Araştırma bulguları ilgili literatür eşliğinde ele alınmıştır.

Psychological Flexibility and Values Preferences’ Effct on Medical Students’ Burnout Level

Öz:
Burnout with its increasing prevalence has become a serious risk for medical students who experience challenging education process. Although many variables that affct burnout have been identifid, the detection of interventions can provide an empirical basis for studies to reduce or prevent burnout. In this regard, our study aims to analyze burnout in terms of its correlation among values and psychological flxibility levels. Th study was carried out with 81 fith grade students doing internship in Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty during the fall semester of 2018–2019 academic year. In order to determine the sociodemographic characteristics of the research sample such as gender and age socio-demographic data form was used, to state the levels of burnout in students Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Form was used, to evaluate the levels of psychological flxibility and rigidity, Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II (AAQ-II) was used, and Values Scale was used to determine value preferences. Research fidings show that psychological rigidity levels signifiantly predicted emotional exhaustion. It is shown that reduction in efficy, another subscale of burnout, predicted by placing emphasis on intellectual values and the level of psychological rigidity. However, there are low level signifiant relationship among burnouts subscales of cynicism, intellectual values and social values, it was found that these variables did not have a signifiant predictive power in regression analysis. In conclusion, our study provides preliminary data that attributing higher importance to intellectual values may reduce the burnout of efficy, also it has shown that as psychological flxibility levels decrease, emotional burnouts increase where as perception of efficy is decreases. Th fidings of the research are discussed with the relevant literature
