The Study of Developing a ‘‘Motivation Scale Intended for Turkish Course’’ Towards Secondary School Students

Öz:
The aim of this study, it was aimed to develop a measurement tool todetermine the success motivation of Turkish course for secondaryschool students. In order to develop the scale, 1030 students studyingin 5, 6, 7 and 8 grades in four different secondary schools in Sivas citycenter were included in the study group. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO)value of the scale was .935 and Bartlett's Sphericity Test valuewas *χ2=16888,796; df=2628, p<.000. Factor analysis was performedafter determining the convenience of these values to the factor analysisof the scale. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of the scalewas found to be .97 in the sub-dimension of amotivation, .89 in the subdimension of intrinsic motivation, .89 in the sub-dimension of the goalmotivation, .86 in the sub-dimension of extrinsic motivation and .95 inthe total items. Based on these findings, it can be said that the scalemeasures the level of motivation that is valid, reliable, and that it wantsto measure.

Ortaokul Öğrencileri İçin ‚Türkçe Dersine Yönelik Motivasyon Ölçeği‛ Geliştirme Çalışması

Öz:
Bu araştırmanın amacı; ortaokul öğrencilerinin Türkçe dersine yönelik motivasyonlarını belirlemeye yönelik geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirmektir. Ölçeğin geliştirilmesi amacıyla Sivas il merkezinde dört farklı ortaokulda 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıflarda eğitim görmekte olan 493 kadın, 537 erkek olmak üzere 1030 öğrenci çalışma grubuna dâhil edilmiştir. Ölçeğin faktör yapısını belirlemek amacıyla yapısal eşitlik modellemesi kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) değeri .935, Bartlett’s Küresellik Testi değeri ise *χ2=16888,796; df=2628, p<.000 için anlamlı bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin Cronbach’s Alpha güvenirlik kat sayısı motivasyonsuzluk faktöründe .97, içsel motivasyon faktöründe .89, hedef motivasyonu faktöründe .89, dışsal motivasyon faktöründe .86 ve toplamda ise .95 olarak bulunmuştur.
