ÜRKİYE’DE COVID-19 NORMALLEŞME SÜRECİNDEHASTALARIN DENTAL TEDAVİLERE BAKIŞ AÇISININ VEKURUM TERCİHLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

ÜRKİYE’DE COVID-19 NORMALLEŞME SÜRECİNDEHASTALARIN DENTAL TEDAVİLERE BAKIŞ AÇISININ VEKURUM TERCİHLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ
Öz: Amaç: 2020 Haziran itibariyle Türkiye'de başlatılan COVID-19 normalleşme sürecinde, hastaların dentaluygulamalar ve koruyucu önlemlerle ilgili düşüncelerini değerlendirmek ve bulaş riskine yönelik düşüncelerini kurum tercihlerine göre karşılaştırmaktır.Materyal ve Metot: Haziran 2020 itibariyle, Ağız ve Diş Sağlığı Merkezlerine (ADSM), Diş Hekimliği Fakültelerine ve özel kliniklere başvuran hastalara, COVID-19 ve hasta ilişkili soruları içeren bir anket doldurtuldu. Çalışma verileri tanımlayıcı istatistiksel metotlar ve Ki-kare testi kullanılarak analiz edildi. Anlamlılık p<0,01 ve p<0,05 düzeylerinde değerlendirildi.Bulgular: Çalışmaya toplamda 765 hasta (339 kadın, 426 erkek) katılmıştır. Katılımcıların %69,30’unun dental tedaviler için özel klinikleri, %18,80’inin Diş Hekimliği Fakültelerini ve %11,90’ının ise ADSM’leri tercih ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Hastaların COVID-19 riskine karşı kendini yeterince korunduğunu düşünme durumu, COVID19 salgınının kontrol altına alındığını düşünme durumu ve bekleme alanındaki kalabalığın endişe yaratması durumu ile kurum tercihleri arasında istatistiksel ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0,05).Sonuç: Hastalara özellikle pandemi sürecinde güvenle başvurabilecekleri bir ortamın sunulabilmesi gereklidir. Bu nedenle en yoğun hasta başvurusunun olduğu kurumlar olması dolayısıyla, ADSM’nin ve Diş Hekimliği Fakültelerinin, hasta beklentilerini karşılayacak ortamı sağlayabilmesi, hastaları bilgilendirmesi ve pandeminin en az zararla atlatılabilmesi açısından normalleşme sürecine katkıda bulunması oldukça kritiktir.Anahtar Kelimeler: COVID-19, diş hekimliği, pandemi, enfeksiyon kontrolü.

Öz: Objectives: To evaluate patients' opinions about dental practices and preventive measures and to comparetheir thoughts on transmission risk according to institutional preferences in the COVID-19 normalizationprocess initiated in Turkey as of June 2020. Materials and Methods: As of June 2020, patients who applied to Oral and Dental Health Centers (ODHC),Dentistry Faculties, and private clinics filled out a questionnaire containing COVID-19 and patient-relatedquestions. Study data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods and the Chi-square test. Significancewas evaluated at p<0.01 and p<0.05 levels. Results: A total of 765 patients (339 women, 426 men) participated in the study. It has been determined that69.30% of the participants prefer private clinics for dental treatments, 18.80% of Dentistry Faculties, and11.90% of ODHC. It was determined that there was a statistical relationship between the patients' state ofthinking that they were adequately protected against the risk of COVID-19, the state of thinking that the COVID 19 epidemic was under control, and the state of concern by the crowd in the waiting area and institutionpreferences (p<0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary to provide an environment where patients can apply safely, especially during thepandemic process. For this reason, it is very critical that ODHC and Dentistry Faculties provide an environmentthat will meet patient expectations, inform patients and contribute to the normalization process in terms ofovercoming the pandemic with the least damage since it is the institutions with the highest number of patientapplications
