Heavy metals in shallow sediments from the Black Sea, Marmara Sea and Aegean Sea regions of Turkey

Öz:

Bu çalışmada Kasım 1996, Mart 2001, Nisan 2002 ve Haziran 2002 yıllarında İstanbul Boğazı, Gökova, Marmara Denizi ve Karadeniz’den alınan yüzey sedimentlerinde toplam Cd, Co, Cr, Ni, Zn, Fe, Mn, Pb ve Cu içerikleri incelendi. Yeşilırmak, Kızılırmak ve Sakarya örneklerinde Cd ve Pb miktarı ölçüm limitlerinin altındadır (0.01 $mu g/l$). Co, Cr, Ni, Zn, Fe ve Mn içerikleri ise şeyl ortalamasının üzerindedir. İstanbul Boğazı ve Marmara sedimentlerinde Cd, Gökova sedimentlerinde ise Cd ve Mn şeyl ortalamalarından oldukça yüksektir.

Öz:

In this work the total Cd, Co, Cr, Ni, Zn, Fe, Mn, Pb and Cu contents is measured in shallow sediments from the Bosphorus, Gökova, Marmara and Black Sea stations are measured. Generally Cd and Pb concentrations are lower than the detection limit (0.01$mu g/L$)of the method in Yeşilırmak, Kızılırmak and Sakarya samples whereas Co, Cr, Ni, Zn, Fe and Mn contents are higher than the shale average. Cd is rather high in Bosphorus and Marmara sediments and Cd and Mn contents are rather high in Gökova sediments compared with shale average.
