Modernizmden Postmodernizme Geçiş ve Pozitif Psikoloji

Öz:
Bu çalısmada, öncelikle bilimsel alanda modernist düsünceden postmodern düsünceye dönüsüm tarihsel çerçevede incelenmistir. Postmodern düsüncenin davranıs bilimlerine kazandırdıgı önemli yaklasımlardan biri olan pozitif psikoloji tanıtılmıs, psikoloji alanına getirdigi yeni bakıs açısı irdelenmistir. Modernizmin etkisindeki sorun çözme odaklı psikolojinin insanın olumsuz ve zayıf yönlerine yaptıgı vurguya karsılık, koruyucu/ önleyici dogasıyla pozitif psikolojinin kisinin olumlu ve güçlü yönlerine odaklanmasına dikkat çekilmistir. Pozitif psikoterapi süreci hakkında bilgi verilerek, yurtdısında ve Türkiye’de pozitif psikoloji konusunda yapılmıs bazı önemli arastırma bulguları özetlenmistir. Tartısma kısmında ise, pozitif psikolojiye yöneltilen elestiriler, pozitif psikolojinin gelecegi ve ülkemizdeki psikolojik hizmetlerdeki yerine iliskin görüsler yer almıstır.

From Modernism to Postmodernism: Positive Psychology

Öz:
In this study, researchers reviewed the paradigm shift from modernism to postmodernism in the historical context. Positive psychology, which is an outcome of postmodernism, is introduced. The difference between the emphasis of traditional psychology vs. positive psychology (i.e. negative aspects and weaknesses vs. positive aspects and strengths of human nature) is documented. Positive psychotherapy process is described briefly. A summary of national and international scientific literature regarding positive psychology practices is also provided. Finally, a discussion of criticisms toward positive psychology, the future of positive psychology and implications for mental health practices in Turkey is provided.
