Gerek in vivo gerekse in vitro çalısmalar sonucunda bitki ekstraktlarının alternatif yem katkı maddesi olarak kullanılabilecegi ortaya konmaktadır.

The use of Essential oils in animal nutrition

Öz:
Nowadays, several feed additives have been used in animal feeding. Antioxidants for preservation of feeds and prolongation of animal products, and antimicrobials for improving the animal health status are some of these feed additives. Recently, scientific researches have focused on alternative additives to antibiotics and synthetic antioxidants due to the ban of antibiotic growth promoters and their negative effects on health. Therefore, the importance of the use of natural additives has been increasing day to day. The results from in vivo and in vitro studies show that herbal extracts may be used as alternative feed additives.
