BEHAVIORAL ECONOMICS AND NUDGE: A STUDY ON HEALTH POLICIES

Öz:
This study shows that basic behavioral economics nudging methods can be used to develop healthy lifestyle behaviors. For this purpose, first, behavioral economics studies revealing that people are often subject to bounded rationality, bounded self-control or bounded self-interest are examined. Second, the effects of these biases on health behavior are identified. Finally, we show that nudging methods such as educational intervention and persuasion, restructuring the environment and creating commitment mechanisms can be used in the prevention of obesity disease.
