Electronic notification is, in general terms, the transmission of a document created on computer or electronic media via electronic mail on the Internet by the public authority that can make a notification. Legal provisions have been put into effect for electronic notification to be made instead of classical notification, considering that communication in the electronic media is fast, cheap and the problems related to the notification made with the classical method can be solved with electronic notification. In our law, by the Law numbered 6099 in 2011, with the article 7a of the Law of Notification, the provision of electronic notification has been enabled for the first time. Thereby, the option of notification via electronic means has been added to the notification methods made with the current classical ways. Then, the scope of the obligatory interlocutors who need to be notified electronically has been expanded by the Law numbered 7101 in 2018 and subsequently a new Regulation on Electronic Notification has entered into force. The legal consequences connected to the electronic notification arise only if an electronic notification is in conformity with the article 7a of the Law of Notification and the provisions of Electronic Notification Regulation.
