This study was carried out in 2021. Within the scope of the study, the districts and villages where viticulture is made in Batman were visited and the vineyards were examined on-site, and the problems were identified on the spot by interviewing the producers dealing with viticulture and solution suggestions were developed in line with the obtained data. It was conducted using face-to-face survey method with 105 participants determined by the proportional sample volume formula from a total of 3231 producers registered in the farmer registration system in Batman province Merkez, Gercüş, Hasankeyf, Beşiri, Sason and Kozluk counties. The data obtained were evaluated with the SPSS statistical package program. In the study, it was aimed to determine the sociodemographic characteristics of the producers such as the average age, occupation, educational status, productivity and way of evaluating their products, the size of the vineyard enterprises and their organizational status. It has been determined that the average age of the producers dealing with viticulture in the district is 51.55% and 49.5% of them are primary school graduates in terms of educational status. It has been determined that 51.7% of the vineyard areas are between 1-10 decares and their lands are their own property. It has been determined that the majority of grapes grown in the region consist of local grape varieties. Producers do not use grapes as wine holders; They declared that they used some of them for their own consumption and sold the rest. It was determined that 3.8% of the producers were members of cooperatives or unions. It has been determined that 60% of the producers cannot earn good money from grape production. It has been determined that 52.4% of the manufacturers have tools and equipment assets. All of the producers reported that they did not use a training and support system in their vineyards. According to the survey results; It was determined that the majority of the participants had a basic level of education, they did not use new viticulture systems because their lands were inherited and it was costly, they were not satisfied with the profits obtained from grapes, they turned to almond and pistachio as an alternative product, they were ignorant and they solved the problems together with other farmers. In order to overcome these problems, it is considered necessary to implement solutions such as training the producers from breeding to marketing, ensuring their organization through cooperatives, establishing a consultancy system, and raising the awareness of the producers.
