Kanser Hastalarına Bakım Veren Aile Üyelerinin Sorunları, Yaşam Kalitesi ve Müdahaleler

Öz:

Kanser, hem dünyada hem de Türkiye’de ölüm sebeplerinin başında gelen, tedavi süreci uzun süren, hasta bakımınınsadece hastanede değil evde de devam ettiği, hastanın olduğu kadar bakım verici olan aile üyelerinin de olumsuzetkilendiği bir hastalıktır. Hastalığı yaşayan kişinin etkilenen yaşamı kadar bakım vermekle yükümlü kişi ve kişilerin deyaşamları fiziksel, duygusal, sosyal ve ekonomik yönden etkilenmektedir. Bakım veren aile üyeleri hem kendigereksinimleri ve istekleri ile hem de bakım rolünün sorumlulukları arasında denge kurmaya çalışmaktadırlar. Bunuyapmaya çalışırlarken de yaşam kaliteleri bu süreçten olumsuz olarak etkilenebilmektedir. Bu derlemede kanserhastasına bakım veren aile üyelerinin yaşam kalitelerinin bakım verme sürecinden nasıl etkilendiği açıklanmayaçalışılmış ve bakım verenlere yönelik müdahaleler sunulmuştur.

Öz:

Cancer, one of the biggest reasons of the deaths both in the World and in Turkey, is a long-term disease in which the patients care continues not only in the hospital but also at home and the family members who care for the patient as well as the patient are adversely affected. As well as the affected life of the person suffering from the disease, the lives of the people who provide care are affected physically, emotionally, socially and economically. Family caregivers are trying to balance their needs and aspirations as well as the responsibilities of the care role. While trying to do so, their quality of life can be adversely affected by this process. In this review, how the quality of life of family members caring for cancer patients is affected by the caregiving process and interventions for caregivers are presented.
